My mermaiding adventure

Making a mermaid top

As I feel now immersed in the mermaid community. I wanted to try and have a go at making a mermaid swim top. Here we go…..

I had some resin moulds from my other shop so thought I would try to use them.

I set about making( first time using silicon and below is the result) I am absolutely over the moon. I will be selling these in different sizes so watch the space

Learning to dolphin kick

I was so excited about this session but finding someone who was local in Devon and a pool that allowed fins was going to be hard work. I finally found Georgia Palmer when I joined a mermaid group on facebook and within 3 mins she had introduced herself and I was in talks about my future session .

You see I am wanting to use the sea where I live for my mermaiding, but as we all know the sea can be kind, but also cruel so I wanted to learn the correct technique.

Finally we managed to book a private pool and met Georgia who made me feel at ease from the start – I used one of her fins as my new one hadn’t arrived yet. She told me the correct positioning and body movement and we were off, using a snorkel so I could stay underwater and perfect my technique.

The sense of calm that washed over me was indescribable. I had been looking forward to this day since watching- cliche alert “The little mermaid”. It was an amazing session and going in the sea a few days after meant that I had more confidence (although with a new different fin) and within seconds of being underwater that feeling of calm was back. I think I’m going to love this new mermaid life…….
